How to submit VIPM Troubleshooting Logs – VIPM

VIPM has a built-in error logging mechanism that stores internal error information to a file.

When supporting you, a VIPM engineer may ask you to provide the most recent error log file generated by VIPM. The error log files are located here: (most recent file)

For VIPM 2013 and above:

Follow the instructions to send us the troubleshooting logs.

Step 1: Select "Save Troubleshooting File for JKI Support..." from Help menu as shown below

Step 2: Click OK on the confirmation dialog

Step 3: Select/create a folder save the log. Go inside that folder and click on "Current Folder" button

Step 4: A confirmation dialog will notify about the logs being saved successfully along with the log file name. Click OK to close this dialog.

Step 5: Browse to the specified folder to access the log file.

Step 6: Send this log file as an attachment when you Submit a VIPM Support Request.

For VIPM 2012 and older:

Windows Vista and 7:
Location of Error file ==> C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\error
The ProgramData folder may be hidden. Watch this video which shows how to make this folder visible:

Windows XP:
Location of Error file ==> C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\JKI\VIPM\error

In addition to the error log. It is helpful to submit your VIPM configuration file located here:

Windows Vista and 7:
C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\Settings.ini

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\JKI\VIPM\Settings.ini
