Background
VIPM 2020 (and greater) has a service that's designed to help VIPM run/open faster when installing packages. Many users find this to be a wonderful improvement to responsiveness when working with packages.
The VIPM system tray allows you to configure whether you want this service to run either (A) when the computer starts or (B) when LabVIEW starts -- (one or the other).
Disabling Automatic Startup
However, some users want to disable automatic startup, completely.
To do this, open the VIPM settings file located here:
C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\Settings.ini
Then, set both of the following startup settings to "FALSE".
[General]
Start VIPM when computer starts?="FALSE"
Start VIPM when LabVIEW starts?="FALSE"
Now, after making this change, VIPM will only show the system tray icon when you start VIPM manually.
Restoring Automatic Startup
To change this setting back, simply choose either of the two options using the VIPM system tray (as shown in the screenshot above).

I would appreciate to have a 3rd option to disable it on any launch.
Hi Tibor. Yes, you can disable it on any launch. Just follow the instructions in this article and set both of these settings to FALSE in the VIPM settings file.
How do you disable it in LabVIEW 2019?
Kirk Crawford -- The instructions above apply to all LabVIEW versions. Hope that works for you.
