Background
VIPM Versions affected: 2020 and earlier
When you add a package repository subscription URL, VIPM coerces the URL to all lowercase when it gets added -- this is a bug.
This is a problem because some servers treat the URL as case sensitive.
Workaround
If your actual URL is something like the following:
http://my.server.com/PackageRepoFolder
1) Add the URL as a VI Package Subscription in the configuration dialog (as shown in the screenshot above).
You will notice that it gets changed to lowercase -- this is a bug.
2) Exit VIPM completely (if the VIPM System Tray is running, right click on it and choose Exit VIPM Browser)
3) Manually edit the "C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\Settings.ini" file to make the URL
Change this:
[Repository]
..
Repository URLs 0="http://my.server.com/packagerepofolder"
...
To this:
[Repository]
..
Repository URLs 0="http://my.server.com/PackageRepoFolder"
...
4) Restart VIPM. It should use the URL with the correct case. However, if you edit the URL in the Options Dialog, it will again be coerced to lowercase and you'll need to complete the workaround steps again.
